Tuli 4 Tuli 4 is a very pretty cow. Not the matriarch of the herd but a dominant female within the herd. This is a very big herd consisting of approximately 40 elephants in total. Several of the females in this herd has exceptionally large tusks. Tuli 4 was collared in front of Rock Camp along the Limpopo River in November 2004. Her collar is still operational.
Movements: This herd spends the majority of their time along the Limpopo River. A more adventurous herd with some visitations into a densely populated area in Zimbabwe along the Shashe River namely Maramani. The light green areas in the map below indicate the area where more than 50% of the sightings occurred. This herd thus has two areas where they seemed to concentrate the most of the past year. Again we see the same trend with the herd moving towards the Shashe River in August and staying in the area for about 3 months.
