About ELVIS: How did he become a ranger? “From secondary school I was interested in Geography and Agricultural subjects. After school I would have liked to purse these subjects at a higher level, but circumstances did not allow for this. Through career counseling I was introduced to Nature Guiding. A career which involved subjects I was interested in”. Most memorable sighting/s: Four lions trying to kill an injured teenage elephant bull. And a pride of twenty-five lions fighting over a gemsbok (Oryx) carcass, which they had killed and were feeding on. Conservation message: The respect man should give to wild animals. People should not place animals under stressful conditions and should not invade their comfort zones. Animals should be left to their peaceful nature. |
